Melissa is a Melbourne based Fashion Stylist, Art Director and Educator with extensive experience in conceptualising, designing, sourcing and delivering uniquely styled and highly creative works.
Recently awarded AHFA Fashion Stylist of the Year 2018, Melissa is regarded as a leading force in the styling industry.
Melissa has styled for events such as TV Week Logie Awards, Melbourne Racing Clubs Spring Carnivals, GTV 9 and Channel 10 networks, Foxtel Sports, Australian Open events, AFL Brownlow Medal, Sony Music just to name a few. Melissa has also featured in editorial spreads for Marie Claire, Elle Australia, Vogue, The Journal and Grazia publications as well as featuring as a guest stylist and speaker for Sass and Bide, The Australian Retail and MSFW Festivals.
Early in her career, Melissa was leading the Talent Acquisitions and Promotion department within the Austereo mcm / Village Roadshow Networks where she liaised with artists, agents and record labels to handle on-air campaigns and segment production, her career naturally evolved into a passion for art direction, fashion and the co-ordination of premium events.
With more than 20 years experience in fashion styling coupled with a naturally creative style and ability to intuitively execute and produce exemplary outcomes to meet the client brief, Melissa has rapidly built a reputation as a highly regarded professional fashion stylist, a tastemaker and visual artist who is continually one step ahead whilst offering a uniquely international, incomparable editorial service. In this time, Melissa has developed an extensive network of expert domestic and international suppliers and personal client contacts within the industry which in turn, enables her to deliver a product very rarely seen.
Melissa’s creative taste and bold vision has been influenced by a broad interest in new fashion trends and not being afraid to go beyond expectations, injecting a little ‘quirky’ into mainstream styling while having a complete understanding of the requirements of a commercial market.
Melissa has just returned from Paris and Los Angeles shooting for agencies who have personally requested her to style their talent for upcoming campaigns and does so on a regular basis with major agencies in Sydney.
Currently teaching the Fashion Styling and Creative Direction course at Melbourne Fashion Institute, where classes are taught by specially selected industry mentors chosen because they are current industry practitioners of note with the ability to inspire students to achieve outstanding results, Melissa has been the driving and creative force behind the design of the Styling course which now holds waiting lists up to a year in advance.
Melissa’s creative style is influenced by a passion for unique visual aesthetics embracing theatrical and developing artistic trends. She has shown that she is not afraid to explore creative boundaries and deliver beyond client expectations.
